Talksy Privacy Policy
Last updated
This policy explains how Talksy (“Talksy,” the “app”), a messaging app developed and operated by IrenicTech (“IrenicTech,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses, stores, and shares your information when you create an account and use the app to chat and make voice and video calls. It applies to the Talksy apps for iOS and Android.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to run the app:
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored only in hashed form, never in plain text). If you add a profile photo, we store that too.
- Messages and media. To deliver your conversations, we process and store the content of the messages you send and receive. That covers text, and any images, files, or voice notes you share in one-to-one and group chats, so they sync across your devices and reach their recipients.
- Calling activity. When you place or receive a voice or video call, we process the information needed to connect the call (such as the participants and call status) and show your recent-call history. We do not record the audio or video of your calls.
- Push notification token. If you enable notifications, your device’s push token is processed by Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver new-message and incoming-call alerts.
We do not collect your phone contacts, and we do not use advertising identifiers or third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
2. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Create and secure your account and authenticate you when you sign in.
- Deliver, sync, and display your messages, shared media, and call history.
- Connect your voice and video calls.
- Send push notifications for new messages and incoming calls.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, and technical problems.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on the performance of our contract with you (our Terms) to provide the app’s core features, your consent for optional permissions such as notifications, and our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and reliable. We never use the content of your messages to train third-party AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. Service providers we share data with
We do not sell or rent your information. Talksy runs on Google Firebase, and we share data with the following processors strictly to operate the app:
- Firebase Authentication. Manages sign-in and account credentials.
- Firebase Database (Firestore / Realtime Database). Stores your profile, messages, and chat data so they sync and persist across your devices.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). Delivers push notifications using your device’s push token.
- Authorities. If required by law, court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
These providers process data on our behalf under Google’s terms. See Google’s Firebase privacy and security information at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
4. International transfers
IrenicTech operates from offices in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan, and our Firebase processors store and process data in Google’s data centres, which may be located outside your country. Where transfers leave the EEA, UK, or other regions with transfer rules, we and our providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
5. Retention
We keep your account information and message data for as long as your account is active so the app works as expected. When you delete your account (see below), we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
6. Deleting your account and data
You can request deletion of your Talksy account and associated personal data at any time. Delete your account from within the app’s profile settings where available, or email privacy@irenictech.com from the address linked to your account. We will delete your account data within 30 days of a verified request.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information; to object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; to data portability; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents have rights under the CCPA / CPRA, including the rights to know, delete, and correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, which we do not do. To exercise any right, write to privacy@irenictech.com. We respond within 30 days.
8. Children
Talksy is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We protect your information with industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, authenticated access via Firebase, and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices change. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
